Life

Where have I been?

Life threw me several curveballs. I lost my original blog, and I’m completely devastated about it. I had years of content on it, and now I have to start back at square one.

I also left my teaching position in 2024 where I had been for 7 years and could not find another position until February. That is another blog post all to itself, and I promise you I am going to tell you the story of what it is like to step into a classroom in February! It is a cautionary- and learning- tale of survival, and one that I am still swimming upstream against the current with.

I am also back in the hunt for a position for next year, and I am really hoping I will not have to sub until I find a position. I need a full time job with insurance.

Health

If you had followed along with my previous blog (before it disappeared from the internet), you may remember I had gone through several health issues. I finally found a doctor who started a treatment plan for my diabetes (and we have nearly vanquished those issues).

My doctor tried a few more things and saw what my original doctor did not: Something wasn’t right.

We started back at square one with my thyroid meds since I had gone from hypothyroidism to hyperthyroidism as my dose needed to be adjusted. She started me on Ozempic which was life changing! I went from an A1C of 12 to 6.9. We are still working to get blood sugar under control, but for the first time in years, my blood sugar is in a normal range with nothing over 150! I finally have energy and feel like I am thriving and not dying! I had resigned that my lack of energy and vitality was me getting older. Nope! Turns out my blood sugar being crazy and my thyroid was making me sick, sick, sick!

Where I’m going from here

My goal is to get my blog and Facebook back to being active again. I also want to plan out more content for my TPT store. Believe me, I have goals for my future, and enough stories about feral middle school students to last me a lifetime and fill up 100 blogs. Trust me.

Anyhow, I look forward to sharing my experience with you as I teach… in the Middle.
