Update

So much has happened since my last post, and I’m not sure where to start to catch up. I ended up having to take a break from teaching back in January 2020 due to medical complications after a wreck. Then when I returned to teaching, I had been moved to 6th and 7th grade. I’m still teaching middle school, but things are a bit different now.

Fast forward to this school year and more complications. When I went to my doctor in the summer for my 6th month check up due to hypothyroidism, diabetes, and high blood pressure, my doctor became concerned when she realized I was serious about the fact that I had not been well. I lost 40 pounds without trying due to severe pain, nausea, and vomiting when eating. It was something that had gradually been growing worse. After 3 specialists, lots of tests, and many failed diagnoses of which they were certain, I am still without a diagnosis and continue to have more tests.

In November I will be having a colonoscopy and endoscopy to see if this shows something. The only thing that they are certain of at this point is a lesion on my liver that they will monitor for growth every 6 months.

I’m planning to get back to blogging and sharing my experiences in the classroom in hopes that I can take my mind off of what is happening. At this point, I need a distraction.
